Biography
Thank you for taking the time to view my bio. I have been registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (RCC) since 1988. For the past 35 years I have been fortunate to work with individuals, couples, families, groups and organizations on a wide range of personal and professional issues.
An area of specialization involves helping individuals build and maintain healthy relationships in the home and in the workplace. I have developed CBT (Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) based programs focused on emotion management and healthy relationships and trained and supervised other therapists in Canada, Asia and Europe to deliver these programs.
Additional areas of expertise include anxiety (including phobias and panic), depression, trauma, workplace stress (including traumatic incidents) and burnout, family conflict and life transitions. I have engaged in countless professional development opportunities over the past 35 years to build my skills as a therapist. I am professionally certified to use EMDR. I am trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and have many years experience helping individuals who are employed in workplaces where traumatic stress is prevalent. For twelve years I was Associate Faculty at Royal Roads University providing seminars in organizational health, conflict resolution, leadership and team building. I also have certification in cyber-counselling from the U. of T. School of Social Work.
My session fees are $130 (plus GST). The first session is typically 75 minutes in length and subsequent sessions are one hour.
I welcome your inquiries and am pleased to respond to any questions. I believe there is a need for best fit between therapist and client for the work to be effective. If I am not able to meet your needs I will do my best to help you find a resource with the necessary expertise.
I can be reached at 604-793-3704. Currently I am only providing video or phone sessions.
